The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Western Australia in 2007

Cave decorations:
The way the leaves of this plant are held remind me of the strangely fluted surface patterns you can see on large stalagmites. If you have seen them, perhaps you know what I am talking about.

These plants have more red pigmentation, which is quite lovely.

Photography had gotten a bit tricky as the wind had picked up to a more or less continuous wail. Meanwhile, the sun had come out of the clouds and in order to keep the light diffused, I had to use my plastic shower curtain which flapped madly in the wind. Imagine me using two large branches to suspend a fully unfurled and bucking shower curtain over these plants, somewhat like a slung hammock. A foolish process all in all, but the photograph came out pretty nicely.
