Satellite plants:
But isn't this weird? I saw this happening to many plants, especially those living in particularly wet spots on the wall.

It seems that little plants would emerge from the base of large, established plants. First they would develop an elongated, filamentary shoot. Then after reaching about 3-4 cm long, the shoots broaden into little rosettes.

I do not understand the natural history of this. Are the plantlets emerging from the central plant? Or are they seedlings, germinating under the plant? Presumably they reroot?
