The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Southern Spain in 2011

Riparian habitat:
The staff sent me in the right direction. Finding the site was trivial itself to reach. While the Rio Barosa trailhead is out of the way, once there all you must do is park your car, then hike up river.

Hiking up a watercourse is always a pleasure. Along the way, Beth and I enjoyed the lovely wild flowers (such as this orchid, Dactylorhiza elata), reptiles, the scenery, and simply the pleasure of being outside.

And not having a bunch of Christs hanging over our heads.

Another view of this orchid.
