Departure:
Alas, I must have used up my karmic credits, for shortly after Jim and
his partner left, a slight drizzle began which turned into a torrent of heavy rain. I hid under the trees and watched the
seep in the rain, but eventually my arboreal sanctuary became as drippy a place as the open areas in the
seep. I used my diffuser as a rain hood to photograph this pretty
Sabatia angularis.
My trip, alas, was over, so I dragged my sodden self and gear through the now soaked and dripping vegetation, to my waiting
rental car. I did a quick clothing change into something dry, wished the plants well, and drove back to my hotel
in Tennessee, to fly back to California the next morning.
