The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Being Stupid in Ontario, 2003

The Trip:
With little warning, late in September 2003 I discovered I was to take a business trip to Ottawa, Canada. This would put me within a day's drive of some very interesting carnivorous plant sites, so of course I knew I had to add a few days onto my trip, to give me time to visit them. This was a little stupid, for reasons I will get into.

Oddly, I sort of feel that my hands are a little tied right now since the guys that told me about these sites are publishing some of their observations soon. So to avoid stealing their thunder, I am not going to do as much interpretation as I would like as I describe these sites. But I hope you enjoy the photos anyway.

The main attractions at these sites were the populations of Sarracenia purpurea. If you love this species, the following web pages will be like a direct injection of heroin into your veins.

P.S. Sorry it took so long for me to get these photos on line! I've been crazy busy the last several months.
