Summer view:
Reaching this beautiful site is tricky. After exiting the main highway system, you must drive for several km along a paved, winding mountain road, and then continue for another few km along a dirt road before taking yet another private road (conspicuously marked "No Trespassing", but I have entry permission from the landowners).

While complicated, this is easy enough during the summer. But during the winter months, the roads are snowed in and closed. I have never visited the site in midwinter, although I have been there in very early spring a few times. Those spring trips revealed the site was under a lot of snow, but with big exposed wet patches. I had long wondered what the site was like in midwinter...
