Darlingtonia pollination studies in 2006

Return to the Trip Overview

Carnivorous leaves:
This insect-eating plant is undeniably very cool. Once organisms enter the inviting and well-lit leaf interior, they are no longer "insects" or "arachnids," they are merely "prey"!

The plants at this site are not particularly showy in terms of their red pigmentation (for that, you must travel towards Crescent City, California). However, the plants are still fabulous.
