In this close view of the ground, you can see how diverse the rare plant life is. Red sundews (Drosera rotundifolia, another carnivorous plant!), yellow monkeyflowers (Mimulus spp.), parasitic broom-rape (Orobanche uniflora), sedges, grasses, and even tiny, seedling Cobra Lilies are scattered throughout the soft, spongy soil surface.
