My photography

My photographic work is almost exclusively botanical. I concentrate on photographing aspects of carnivorous plants and invasive wildland weeds. Much of my work is in the macro range, from 0.1 to 4.0 × magnification.

A comprehensive collection of my photographs of carnivorous plants and invasive species are on-line (in low-resolution web format) at the virtual museum, Galleria Carnivora. Many of these appeared in my books, Growing Carnivorous Plants (Timber Press, 2006), and Monster Plants (Scholastic, 2010).

Most of my clients are textbooks, magazines, newspapers, and museums. If you are interested in purchasing nonexclusive print or electronic rights to my stock images, contact me via e-mail at barry(at)sarracenia.com. I can also work to your specifications.

As all photographers should, I take copyright issues quite seriously. If you want to use my photographs on your web site, look at my guidelines for image usage.
