The Carnivorous Plant FAQ v. 12

Q: Field trip report: North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia mountains in 2005

map
A: Early in 2005, I visited a few mountain bogs in the Appalachian Mountains. Some of these were privately owned, but I had been given permission to visit them the by conservation workers who manage them. A few more of the sites on my intinerary were on public land and accessible by trails---but they would require a bit of searching if I were to be successful.

This part of the USA constitutes much of the range for Sarracenia purpurea var. montana, so this taxon was a major item of interest for me. Sarracenia oreophila and Sarracenia jonesii were also on the itinerary!
