Disk models

disks
H-R diagrams
Using dereddened V, R, I, J, H, and K data, I modelled the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of stars with infrared excesses. My models used assumed a star which has a photosphere that can be modelled as a blackbody, and a viscous accretion disk. The model was reduced to two free parameters---the mass accretion rate and the inner radius of the disk. Accretion was usually necessary to explain the large infrared excesses, and the disks always need inner holes or else the inflection in the SEDs can not be modelled.
