This is odd...
Look at this strange pitcher plant! It is S. alata, but it looks so different from the archetypal image of the species. This pitchers of this plant are semi-erect and bear arching lids with recurved edges; the overall effect of the plant is more like some variant of S. rubra subsp. wherryi.

How very odd.
