The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Western Australia in 2007

Return to the Trip Overview

Shrubby:
This view of Beth, laying down in the prickly vegetation, gives you a good idea of what the area was like. There were a lot of shrubs competing with the Cephalotus.

Laying down like this had its risks. No, we saw no tiger snakes, but we did find a few ticks. In fact, that night I found one hanging onto my leg. Nasty little bastard.

Do you see that intent, slightly irritated look on Beth's face? That's just a trick of the moment--she was having a great time. But it was that exact same face that I saw last night when I read to her my (what I considered to be) funny little interpretation of the three raft loads of nubile schoolgirls.

You just can't please everybody.
