Several plants:
Some plants were almost as low as eye level.
Photographing these involved some engineering. I had my tripod's legs fully extended, but even that wasn't enough to reach these
plants. I gathered roadside rocks that had tumbled down the cliff, and constructed three pedestals to set the tripod upon.
Once the camera was sufficiently highly placed, I spider-climbed the algal-slick rock wall to peer into the view finder and compose
the photograph. It was not particularly easy photography!
We were a little concerned that we were creating a spectacle for those who were driving by, and hoped that we wouldn't be the
result of a distraction causing a car to veer into oncoming traffic, or to tumble down the cliff into the valley.
