Freak out!
Taking flash photographs of underwater aquatics is always tricky, and you must experiment with the positioning of the flash. This image is of the same plants as before, but is heavily lit from the rear-left. Normally I would consider this image a failure and discard it, but every time I look at it, it freaks me out and makes my blood pressure rise.

It is like one of those internet videos we have all seen: a quiet scene with gentle images, which is suddenly interrupted by a screaming zombie face to make you jump and shoot coffee out your nose. This picture is like the moment of that jump shot, and since it freaks me out so much, I figure it must have some value.

Look at all the suspended particulate matter brought out by the flash. Fen water has a lot of gunk in it.
