The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Florida Panhandle in 2008

Return to the Trip Overview

Flowers:
Flowers like the one above are tinged with lilac; others are paler, with just a touch of colour.

Bob and Jim drove up and joined me, having tracked down the Sarracenia leucophylla at Tate's Hell Swamp. As was anticipated, the plants were not in a state worth appreciating.

After wading in the shallows with me, they told me they wanted to visit a nearby lake where, years ago, a white-flowered Pinguicula lutea had been detected. Bob had been visiting it for years, hoping to find the plant. This interested me, after a few last moments of photography we walked back to the shoreline.
