The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Florida Panhandle in 2008

Return to the Trip Overview

The water ranged in depth from a few to 30 cm. Short plants were submerged, taller plants such as these Drosera tracyi emerged from the water. Oddly, they reminded me of Byblis gigantea plants I had seen growing in Western Australia.

Years ago, on a late summer trip to this site, I had seen Utricularia resupinata here, and Jan Schlauer has seen Pinguicula ionantha here, but I saw neither this time. That was OK, because my main interest in the site were the reddish submerged Pinguicula planifolia plants.
