Bromeliads:
These are a few flowering
bromeliads (Tillandsia) in
the twiggy, twiggy, cypress stands. Michael Manna
says these are Tillandsia balbisiana (left) and
Tillandsia fasciculata (right). I kept my eyes out for
Catopsis berteroniana (a carnivorous bromeliad) but saw none
during the trip.
Even these Tillandsia plants were twiggy.
