The Carnivorous Plant FAQ Field Trip Report -

Western Australia in 2007

Return to the Trip Overview

Another fan:
All of about 15 km down the road (we weren't too far off course after all), Phill pulled off the road and into a sandy swamp trail that led to one of the tributaries of a complicated dendritic system of drainage streams. Less than 100 meters on foot, and the ground became ever more moist. Dotting the trail we started seeing isolated clumps of this sweet little fan-leaved species, Drosera ramellosa!

Don't let the low perspective fool you. Although this plant looks large enough to hang Christmas ornaments on, it is less than 10 cm tall.

But wait...beyond it we could see even more plants...
